The Yard, November 19th, 2003

The yard, as it was on November 19th, 2003. To the right of the big cedar in the background, you can see one of the first coast redwoods my landlord planted. Since this photo was taken, that redwood has put on about three feet a year. It's much taller than the sequoiahs now. This amount of snow strikes me as typical for wintertime here. Like warm years in WV (where I grew up), I've seldom (until recently) seen snow last for more than a week or maybe two before the rain comes back and melts it off.
