Well, here's the final section. The 2x4s look undamaged and it's still daylight out for a while. Hooray!
Before I pulled this last bit off, my landlord and his wife came by. They were doing a dump run, and had kindly (as is their nature)
offered to include my old walls. While he was here, my landlord (responding to several instances of nagging on my part) read my meter
for the first time in a while (18 months? 2 1/2 years?). It turned out that what I owed for power was less than a month's rent.
I had thought it would be more. Turning the themostat down to 45F and unplugging the water heater when I'm away has been pretty
sucessful for me in keeping the power bill down. Being away winters with fishing and summers with the house project has helped
with that also, I'm sure.
