The joist truck arrived at about 5:00 AM, and the driver parked alongside the highway near the driveway and (I presume) took a nap until later in the morning. Seven Valley Home Improvement came and did the offloading for us. It went quickly and without incident. On the truck are all of the 16" high D-500 joists for supporting the ground floor (except the garage floor), the upstairs floor and the roof, 7811 square feet in all. Six of the beams for our project got accidentally swapped with six other (smaller) beams for another project. Hambro sent another truck the next day with the other beams to swap. The total cost of the joists, beams and garage post and engineering was US$ 41,900.00 + $3,352 (tax). It worked out to ~$5.80/sq ft and less than $2/lb.
