This year's swarm of Bees, July 2nd, 2007.
The bees are the dark area on the tree branch in the right hand side of the center of the upper part of the photo. They hung out on that branch for about three days, lasting through a couple of rain storms, before they found a destination and flew off. I called the closest beekeeper and he said that had they been easily accessable by stepladder he'd have been glad to have them, but he didn't feel it was worth the risk considering their height above uneven ground. I thought of a design for a bee-box vacuum that might be used to safely (for them, also) collect them, but they flew off before building it seemed necessary.
